Modern Elegance Meets Historic Charm

The picture on the top of this page features a home built in the 1920’s. In that era, home heating and cooling requirements were different than they are now and the rooms were often cut off from each other. Structural beams were applied to allow for a more open area between living room, dining room, and kitchen, these beams were then wrapped and stained to blend with the aesthetic of the house. We turned an old bookshelf overtop an air duct into a serving bar allowing easy access for serving while entertaining guests, leaving ample room in the kitchen for meal prepping and serving.

Open Living with Cohesive Design

The picture immediately following features an open living area on the first floor, with coffered ceilings. A clean line of site is possible when we removed a large fireplace between the dining room and living room allowing natural light to flow easily into the entire first floor through large windows. The coffered ceilings and furniture arrangement allows for intentional room separation while protecting overall walking paths and the consistent wood flooring adds harmony.

Split-Level and Open Kitchen Remodels

In the pictures that follow, first you will notice a split-level home, the remodeling we completed here provided the solution to the number one complaint of split-level homes which is, not enough room. Expanded openings and strategic appliance placement allow this busy family to finally have ample room to gather and eat at the dining table or a enjoy a quick snack with peninsula seating. The sink and dishwasher, integrated into the peninsula, along with fridge across from the range allows for meal prepping with ease due to reduced steps between appliances.

In the second home remodel we show a popular kitchen remodeling request, “please take down the wall between the formal dining room and the kitchen!” Homes built during a time where formal dining for all meals was the norm, we often see intentional separation between those prepping the meal and those being served the meal. We frequently hear the request to be able see and interact with each other without a wall in the way, this view shows what your walled off kitchen will look like when you take down the walls of separation.

Seamless Elegance

This next home remodel project shows the simple elegance of room connectivity. We have complimenting appliances and fixturing accenting beautiful countertops. The living room set up neatly nestled by the fireplace compliments the cosmetics of the kitchen, even the hearth stone surround and built-ins blend beautifully with this elegant design.
