Westerville

The land today, Westerville, was settled by those of European ancestry around 1810. In 1818, the Westervelt family, settlers of Dutch extraction, migrated to the area from New York. They donated land to construct a Methodist church in 1836, and the settlement was subsequently named in the family's honor.  An 1859 town ordinance prohibited sales of alcohol in Westerville. By the 1870s, a burgeoning conflict between pro- and anti-alcohol forces boiled over into the so-called "Westerville Whiskey Wars." Twice, in 1875 and 1879, a saloon was opened in Westerville, and each time, the townspeople blew up the establishment. Recognized as the friendliest city in America, residents describe Westerville as authentic, with a hometown feel and a respect for its heritage. Expanding Space and Light by Removing Formal Dining Wall

This picture is of a Kitchen Remodel in Westerville.  It features a common ask that we receive from owners with an underutilized formal dining room. This kitchen was expanded by removing the dividing wall and exposing the new kitchen area to additional natural light from the once dim formal dining room. The additional light, along with a better kitchen layout, provides this family with plenty of room within the working triangle and even a simple built-in desk on a tastefully done storage wall.

Enhanced Access and Seamless Integration with Living Areas

The project that follows is another gorgeous Westerville kitchen remodel. It is highlighted by greatly improved living access from both the kitchen and adjacent living areas. The upper-level countertop peninsula bar with room for seating marks exactly where an old structural wall split the two spaces. The common trend of isolated rooms in older homes is overcome with both cosmetic and structural nuances between the spaces.

Spacious Ensuite Bathroom and Functional Living Area

These next two Home Remodeling projects are also from Westerville.   The first show is a Bathroom Remodel that features a traditional larger ensuite bathroom. Typically, bathrooms are shallow or narrow, but when you have the room, it becomes easy to make it comfortable and design the aesthetics to the owner's preferences.

The second is a Living Area Remodel that shows how split-level homes or walk-out basements can be maximized for both function and comfort. Here, we have a comfortable-sized door to enter and exit from the rear yard, with a double window for maximum light or a nice breeze. Built-ins nestled on either side of the fireplace provide an easy and functional backdrop for movie nights with loved ones.

Honoring Family Traditions with an Entertainer's Delight

And here is just one more Home Remodeling project from Westerville.  It offers homage to the proud family member who loves entertaining family and friends with a quick pint. We love seeing the stories intertwined from generations with memories passed to loved ones.
