Upper Arlington

The land on which present-day Upper Arlington sits was first known to be inhabited by the Adena people, renowned for building conical mounds for burial sites.  Brothers and real estate developers King and Ben Thompson founded Upper Arlington. They purchased the original 840 acres of land, south of present-day Lane Avenue in 1913. They first referred to the area as the "Country Club District" but by 1917 the community had become known as "Upper Arlington" in reference to its southern neighbor of Arlington (now known as Marble Cliff).  Development proceeded and was inspired by landscape architect William Pitkin, Jr., which called for following the contours of the land to form curving streets copiously lined with trees rather than a gridded street layout. This design style gave the oldest district in Upper Arlington (at its southernmost end) its distinctively pleasant, park-like feel, featuring numerous small green spaces.  Learn more about this wonderful place to work and live by visiting the City of Upper Arlington website here.

Maximizing Space with Smart Design

This picture is of a Kitchen Remodel in Upper Arlington.  It features smart use of every nook and cranny to maximize the space for storage, prep, and serving area. The soapstone counters with simple backsplash compliment the desired appearance and will serve this family well for years to come.

Stunning Structural Beams

The project that follows is another gorgeous Upper Arlington kitchen remodel.  It is highlighted with masterfully wrapped and stained structural beams installed on the ceiling between the step down living room and kitchen. Opening up the wall brings so much more natural light from the living room and improves the lines of sight to and through the kitchen.

Harmonious Design and Space-Saving Solutions

The first of the next Upper Arlington Home Remodeling projects is a Bathroom Remodel that features the perfect complimenting material selections that tie black accents to soft wood details. With a bit of focus, we can see straight lines throughout the integrated shelving, doorways, mirrors and fixtures. Elevations of any remodeled area are les noticeable when they all fit together so well.

The second is another Upper Arlington Bathroom Remodel that shows you don’t always have the space you want for a large bathroom but you can almost always find a solution to use the space you have. The materials here were all sized appropriately to allow for a simple yet effective half bathroom.

Cozy Coffee Nook with Creative Solutions

And here is just one more Home Remodeling project from Upper Arlington.  It displays a small area with creative solutions for the perfect coffee nook. By preserving the existing windows we were able to provide this family with an simple serving station and shelves perfectly aligned to the window sash.
