Powell

There was a settlement in Powell in the early 1800s, and it was called Middlebury, named after the home of many of the first settlers who came from Connecticut.  In the mid-1850s, Judge Thomas Powell from Delaware, Ohio established the Village’s first post office and the townspeople decided to rename the village in his honor. In 1947, the Village of Powell was recognized as a municipality and nearly 400 residents called it home. The population remained stable until the early 1980s, when a trend emerged, as the appeal of living in a semi-rural setting amidst the scenic countryside drew new residents.  In 2000, the village status matured into the prospering City of Powell. Today, the community is home to over 14,000 residents, more than double the population from just a decade ago.   Learn more about this wonderful place to work and live by visiting the City of Powell website here.

Powell Kitchen Remodel from neighboring Dublin

Spacious Island and Sunlit Corner Sink

The picture on top is of a Kitchen Remodel from your Powell neighbors in Dublin. It features a large island perfect for serving a quick breakfast or gathering around a plentiful Thanksgiving meal. The windows above the corner sink allow for rear yard line of site and natural lighting throughout each part of day.

Chef's Comforts and Elegant Design

The project that follows is another gorgeous Powell kitchen remodel.  It is highlighted by the creature comforts that a home chef prefers. A large oven for preparing larger meals and a perfect fit for a fridge and freezer with a full pantry just a few steps away. A simple glass backsplash is accented with a chevron pattern provides a great contrast to the built in that flank the hood vent cabinetry.

Powell Home Remodels

These next two Home Remodeling projects has one from directly in town, and one from a nearby town. The first shows a Home Remodel directly in Powell. It features a fireplace that is no longer used for any live burns but instead is transformed into a decorative feature inside this finished four seasons room. By adding wainscoting to the old chimney and matte black tile in the old firebox this outdated overflow room is now comfortable and relaxing.

The second is from Dublin, which neighbors Powell, that shows an elegant upgrade to a simple gas burning fireplace. The light quartz with gray veining on the fireplace surround and hearth provides a subtle contrast to the whites used on the mantle with adjoining built in bookshelves.

Stacked Stone Fireplace

This next Home Remodeling project is also from Powell.  It displays a large fireplace in the great room with natural stacked stone and barnwood mantle. Many cozy nights are now warmer with a direct vent gas insert, the inclusion of a direct vent provides minimal intrusion to the main living space leaving plenty of room for walking space and furniture.
